Screen colours and textures are indicative. Confirm colour-critical work against a physical sample or supplied material.
- Screen displays cannot reproduce exact physical colour, gloss or texture
- Leathergrain, metallic, sparkle, matt and Seren finishes each have distinct visual and directional properties
- Metallic and special-effect finishes may appear different depending on direction, viewing angle and lighting
- Natural galvanised finishes vary between batches and are not colour-matched
- Published RAL and British Standard references are nearest references, not guaranteed exact matches
- For colour-critical work, confirm against a physical sample or the material supplied for the project

View palette- Manufacturer guarantee eligibility depends on the exact product and finish
- Duration and terms may vary by colour, application, location and system
- Registration or supply through an approved route may be required
- Manufacturer guarantees are not automatically Color-Clad guarantees
- Fire classifications and other product performance claims depend on the exact product and assembly
- Confirmation is required before these claims are attached to a fabricated component

Pre-coated aluminium
Pre-coated aluminium from 0.9mm to 2.0mm
Color-Clad advertises pre-coated aluminium in 0.9mm, 1.6mm and 2.0mm thicknesses, with relevant folded components available up to 3m where technically suitable.
Alloy, temper, coating and finish direction are confirmed where technically relevant.
- Aluminium expands and contracts more than steel, so movement, joint spacing and fixing details must be considered by the project designer or system provider.
- Alloy and temper affect bending behaviour and must be confirmed where critical.
- Coating, colour, gloss and directional finish must be confirmed from the supplied material.
- Long flat faces may show natural visual variation or distortion.
- Final minimum leg sizes, returns and fold radii depend on tooling and material condition.

Galvanised steel
Galvanised steel from 0.7mm to 2.0mm
Color-Clad advertises galvanised steel in 0.7mm, 0.9mm, 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 2.0mm thicknesses for Zeds, angles, purlin-type sections, top-hat sections and bespoke folded components up to 3m, subject to geometry and tooling.
Manufacturing a folded shape does not establish structural capacity or suitability.
A Zed, purlin-type or top-hat profile may form part of a structural or secondary-support system, but manufacturing the shape alone does not establish its load capacity, span, restraint requirement or suitability for a building.
Material grade, yield strength, section geometry, thickness, support centres, restraint, loads, cleats, holes, and conformity documentation are the responsibility of the project designer, engineer or system provider.

- Yield strength
- Galvanised coating designation
- Coating mass
- Section dimensions
- Lip and flange geometry
- Hole or slot requirements

Fold geometry
What determines whether a profile can be formed?
Material, geometry and production constraints are assessed together before manufacture.
- Material type
- Material grade or temper
- Coating and surface sensitivity
- Thickness
- Overall developed width
- Required finished length
- Number and sequence of bends
- Included angles
- Minimum flange and return sizes
- Hemmed or closed returns
- Internal bend radius
- Tool access and collision risk
- Springback
- Direction of visible finish
- Quantity and repeatability requirement
- Handling and transport
No single minimum flange, bend radius or dimensional tolerance applies to every material and profile.
These values depend on the material, thickness, tooling, drawing convention, geometry and critical fit. Confirm important dimensions during quotation and drawing review.

Drawing and measurement guidance
Show the profile as viewed from one end.
A simple drawing is sufficient when the essential geometry is clear. State whether dimensions refer to inside faces, outside faces or overall finished size. Mark any critical fit and identify the visible surface.
- Draw the cross-section as viewed from one end
- Mark the finished component length separately
- Show each bend angle
- Show returns and hems
- Identify left- and right-hand components
- State material and thickness where known
- State colour or finish where known
- Mark critical dimensions
- Include quantity
- Add a site photograph or sample where useful
Industry context
Standards and project responsibility.
Color-Clad supplies fabricated components. Project design, system selection and installation responsibilities remain with the relevant project team unless separately agreed.
Manufacturing a folded Zed, purlin-type or top-hat shape does not establish structural performance. Engineering and system-design information must be supplied where applicable.
Flashings and fabricated details require suitable material, joints, support, fixings, movement allowance and coordination with the roof or wall system.
Whether CE marking, UKCA marking, a Declaration of Performance or another conformity route applies depends on the product, intended use and applicable technical specification.
Unless separately agreed and documented, the project designer, contractor, installer or proprietary system provider remains responsible for structural design, drainage sizing, support centres, fixings, seals, thermal movement, interfaces and installation.
Specifications and material availability are subject to quotation-stage confirmation.
